Transfiguration Day

Today, In the Year of our Lord + August 6, 2018, in the Christian Year, I remember and celebrate in my very being the great, great event of the “Transfiguration” of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, when He was on earth I recon the year 33 A.D.  But, who else knows?  Who else cares?

Are you interested and willing to go a little further?

In the Holy Bible, the written Word of God, in the New Testament, in the Gospel According to Saint Matthew, in chapter 17, the account is as follows:

THE TRANSFIGURATION (Greek, metamorphoo)

“And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them: and His face did shine as the sun, and His raiment was white as the light.

And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with Him.

Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.

And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.” (Matthew 17:1-9)

This was a view the three apostles saw of the risen, glorified Christ, in His new, resurrected body after the death He will die on the cross for the sins of the whole world, and yours and mine too.  Soon He will one day come again, in the clouds,  in power and brightness and glory and resurrect all believers who died in Him, and translate all living believers at that time to glorious, immortal bodies…and so shall we meet the Lord Jesus in the air above the clouds and follow Him up to Heaven; and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Sounds good?  Only believe!

Moses died and was resurrected and taken up to Heaven; Elijah never died, but was translated into a glorified, immortal body and taken up to Heaven.   Moses represents those who die in Christ and will be resurrected into new, glorified, immortal bodies; Elijah represents those living believers who will be changed to immortal, imperishable bodies at Christ’s coming at the Rapture.  And like them, so shall we ever be with the Lord! Take these words to comfort and tell others, for the time is short!

And, at Christ’s Second Coming, He will shine in glory just like that of the Transfiguration, in the Revelation, chapter 19, verses 11-16:

THE GLORIOUS APPEARING OF JESUS

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him  was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He himself.

And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

And don’t worry about riding lessons; it will all be taken care of, but you gotta get there first!  AND THE ONLY WAY IS TO BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS AS LORD AND SAVOR OF YOUR LIFE.

My prayer is that today through the Holy Spirit, you will come to the saving faith of Jesus Christ, asking Him to forgive your sins, and inviting Him into your heart as Lord and Savior unto eternal life with Him forever and ever.

With the blessings of this knowledge, and the blessings of this life, may you be blessed today, in the name of the most blessed and holy Trinity, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the One and only GOD, Creator of all things,

+

Amen.
