What is it this time, Brother Monk?
Father, forgive my ramblings, but I must write them.
Yes, of course, that’s your ministry. What is it that has been on your mind these past couple of days?
This month apart from all the other months has been most holy.
I have never been more transfixed on our Lord Jesus than as Holy Week when He went up to Jerusalem to give His life for us. It is as if I was there!
It was in the Plan of God before time that each and every detail was fulfilled of Christ’s Passion. Before He even got to the Cross, He was beaten severely by the Temple guards, and then whipped by the Romans so brutally that no man could have survived the lashings. His skin was torn from His back; His blood was shed for us that would flow for the forgiveness of our sins. And like the river that springs eternal, so too the washing away and life everlasting, that in Him, would forever. As if that was not enough, He was nailed to a hard, rough, wooded cross, erected upright and dropped into a deep hole to support it. Every joint was savagely knocked out of place; He couldn’t breath properly as the cross was a slow, demonic form to suffocate the victim. A small wooden ledge was under His feet so that He might push up His lungs against the weight of gravity and His outstretched arms. But His feet were nailed together, and He could not push up to get air! A slow, horrible death.
Can you not cry the cry of pity for what our Lord endured for us? And can you not close in abounding joy for the resurrection of the broken, dead One in the tomb? Yes, and more! For the promises of God through Jesus Christ are beyond measure, even beyond our comprehension.
When He rose from the dead on the third day, He had a new, immortal, glorious body that could transcend space and time. He is our model. He is what we shall be at the Rapture, the resurrection and translation of the dead and living in Christ Jesus when He calls us up to glory! We shall be like Him, and our new bodies will be forever. We shall follow Him to Heaven. We shall see the Father. We shall see everyone who is in Christ.
Eternity past was forever beyond our imagination; it was just GOD, in Spirit, One, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Plan of Salvation was formed before there was anything created. There was only one will; God’s will. At the six days of creation, time began and everything moved forward in a sequential, chronological order. Satan, the mighty cherub created by GOD was on the scene; he rebelled against GOD, and was cast out of heaven to the earth. Now there were two wills on the earth, and Satan succeeded in deceiving the first man, and the first women to disobey GOD. And so they fell from grace, now in a sinful state, and away from GOD.
And so it has been these past six thousand plus years of mans’ living and dying, following the will and going over to either God, or to Satan. The destiny of each is clear. Apart from God, we can do nothing. Just look at the past centuries of misery, killings, diseases, famine, slaughter, war, persecution, etc., and the list could go on and on. How many believe? How many follow and worship Satan’s demons as their god? How many are lost? How many are saved? God has let this test, this trial go on for over 6,000 years. Bur there is going to be a stopping point when God will say, “Times up!”
All things must be fulfilled according to Scripture. Future eternity, with GOD, or away from God, will first be accomplished according to God’s Plan of the Ages in this future, sequential order as thus: The Rapture; The Tribulation; the Messianic Kingdom of God on earth with Christ Jesus ruling; the Final Revolt of Satan and his eternal doom to the Lake of Fire; the Resurrection of all the unbelieving dead of all time at the Great White Throne Judgment of Christ Jesus, and their eternal abode in the Lake of Fire; the New Heaven and the New Earth, and the New Jerusalem; eternity with GOD FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER. Amen.
Even so, come Lord Jesus.
April…ever so fast…yet…what happened in this most holy and special month?
Blessed and holy are those who are in Christ Jesus, and do His will, and love Him with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind, and love their neighbors as themselves.
Amen, and Amen.
