In Praise of Prayers
Since the beginning of the Church way back in 33 A.D. in Jerusalem of Judea on the very day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came (folks, that’s over 20 centuries ago), written and memorized prayers and hymns have been the ‘backbone’ of our faith in praise of God in our worship. Here are some of power that touch our hearts and souls: God is always listening…for this is His will in your life.
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above the heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
A Song of Praise
Glory to you, Lord God of our fathers; You are worthy of praise’ glory to You. Glory to you for the radiance of Your holy Name; we will praise You and highly exalt You forever.
Glory to You in the splendor of Your temple; on the throne of Your majesty, glory to You. Glory to You, seated between the Cherubim; we will praise You and highly exalt You forever;
Glory to You, beholding the depths; in the high vault of heaven, glory to You. Glory to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; we will praise You and highly exalt You forever. Amen.
A Song of Penitence
Prayer of Manasseh
O Lord and Ruler of the hosts of heaven, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and of all their righteous offspring: You made the heavens and the earth, with all their vast array.
All things quake with fear at Your presence; they tremble because of Your power. But Your merciful promise is beyond all measure; it surpasses all that our minds can fathom.
O Lord, You are full of compassion, long suffering, and abounding in mercy. You hold back Your hand; You do not punish as we deserve.
In Your great goodness, Lord, You have promised forgiveness to sinners, that they may repent of their sin and be saved.
And now, O Lord, I bend the knee of my heart, and make ny appeal, sure of Your gracious goodness. I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, and I know my wickedness only too well.
Therefore I make this prayer to You: Forgive me, O Lord, forgive me. Do not let me perish in my sin, nor condemn me to the depths of the earth.
For You, O Lord, are the Lord of those who repent, and in me You will show forth Your goodness. Unworthy as I am, You will save me, in accordance with Your great mercy, and I will praise You without ceasing all the days of my life.
For all the powers of heaven sing Your praises, and Yours is the glory to ages of ages. Amen.
A Song to the Lamb
Splendor and honor and kingly power are Yours by right, O Lord our God. For You created everything that is, and by Your will they were created and have their being; And Yours by right, O Lamb that was slain, for with Your blood You have redeemed for God, From every family, language, people, and nation, a kingdom of priests to serve our God.
And so, to Him that sits upon the throne, and to Christ the Lamb, Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor, forever and for evermore. Amen.
The Song of the Redeemed
O Ruler of the universe, Lord God, great deeds are they that You have done, surpassing human understanding. Your ways are ways of righteousness and truth, O King of all the ages.
Who can fail to do You homage, Lord, and sing the praises of Your Name? for You only are the Holy One.
All nations will draw near and fall down before You, because Your just and holy works have been revealed. Amen.
Glory to God
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, Almighty God and Father, we worship You, we give You thanks, we praise You for Your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.
For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
You are God
You are God, we praise You; You are the Lord, we acclaim You; You are the eternal Father: All creation worships You.
To You all angels, all the powers of heaven, Cherubim and Seraphim, sing in endless praise: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
The glorious company of apostles praise You. The noble fellowship of prophets praise You. The white- robed army of martyrs praise You. Throughout the world the holy church acclaims You; Father, of majesty unbounded, Your true and only Son, worthy of all worship. and the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.
You, Christ, are the King of glory. the eternal Son of the Father. When You became man to set us free You did not shun the Virgin’s womb.
You overcame the sting of death and opened the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.
You are seated at God’s right hand in glory. We believe that You will come and be our judge. Come then, Lord, and help Your people, bought with the price of Your own blood,
And bring us with Your saints, to glory everlasting. Amen.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and with eternal thanksgiving for all things from God, Amen.
PS: With God there are no races; with God He sees His Church composed of all believing Jews and Gentiles…
