THE ARMY OF GOD
Father Monk: “Brother Monk, I noticed you stayed a little longer after Holy Communion. And you’re sweating! Are you ill?”
Brother Monk: “No, I’m fine, Father. I just had such a powerful sense come over me as a real dream I could see and feel! I couldn’t move…I was transfixed, and I am sure it was the Lord showing me something…then, now and future.”
Father Monk: “When?”
Brother Monk: “Right after you blessed the bread and the wine as the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Then you said:
“Who, in the multitude of they saints, has compassed us about with so great a cloud of witnesses so that we, rejoicing in their fellowship, may run with patience the race that is set before us, and together with them, may receive the crown of glory that fades not away.”
“Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of Heaven, we laud and magnify Thy glorious name, evermore praising Thee, and saying,
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, Lord God of hosts, Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory: Glory be to Thee, O Lord Most High.”
Father, it is the uncountable, forever the Army of the Lord our God, and He has given me a glimpse of that vast, vast army as the grains of sand at the seashore. And it is magnificent to behold, and we are all going to be there, as we are now in the glorious mighty Army of God.
Many greats of the centuries have eluded to this army of saints, for example, just before Willian the Conqueror and his army set sail for England in 1066, he and his chief captains prayed in his church in Normandy that God would grant them victory.
And one of the ancient prayers he prayed was the Te Deum Laudamus:
We praise thee, O God; we acknowledge thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship thee, the Father everlasting. To thee Angels cry aloud; the Heavens, and all the Powers therein; To thee Cherubim and Seraphim continually do cry, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabbath; Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty of thy glory.
And here is the Army of God:
The glorious company of the Apostles praise thee.
The goodly fellowship of the Prophets praise thee.
The noble army of Martyrs praise thee.
The holy Church throughout all the world doth acknowledge thee;
The Father, of an infinite Majesty; Thine adorable, true, and only Son; Also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.
We are the Army of God; invincible. unshakable, steadfast and holding the line; able to do all things in Christ who strengthens us; in Christ Jesus, our Commander in Chief, we have the Victory.
For twenty centuries now Jesus has been building His Army against the forces of evil, Satan and his demonic host.
And one day in the future not far from now, at the end of the Great Tribulation, Jesus Christ will come back to earth on a white horse, in power and glory, follower by His armies of saints and angels on white horses. He will crush His enemies and set up His Kingdom, the Kingdom of God, and reign on earth as the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS for a thousand years.
Onward Christian soldiers marching with the banner of Christ…onward…onward.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
