Children of the Kingdom

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be always acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. +

How blessed we are to know and love Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

How thankful that we are saved by His blood for our sins and from the wrath to come.

How blessed we are to know we will be in His Kingdom to come to earth one day where we will live with him with brand new immortal, glorified bodies just like His! Wow!

Why, that is the best Good News I ever heard. How about you?

Someone once asked me how many people I thought will be in God’s Kingdom?

I replied that I didn’t know, only the Father in Heaven knows for sure.

I said it must be a pretty big number though, something no man could count.

Pretty much the way a financial analyst once described to his boss when asked how much money was in all the banks of the world?

“A BLUEZILLION, SIR.

How much?

A Bluezillion!

Never heard of that.

That’s ’cause it’s a number no one can count.”

And maybe that’s the best way to describe the number of saints who will be in the eternal Kingdom of God…a “bluezillion people,” an uncountable  number.

And you and I shall be there who have put our trust in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior…we shall be in that uncountable crowd of a “bluezillion.”

Folks, the world we live in is a mess! For all the beauty and goodness, you have evil and darkness popping up everywhere, every day! And it’s getting worse!

There is good and evil…

Righteousness and unrighteousness…

The just and the unjust living side by side, like the wheat and the tares!

And when the Lord Jesus comes back as the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS,” He will sort it all out, so don’t worry about that.

Yet we live out our lives as believers, following Him as best we can, asking for forgiveness, ever longing for the day to be with Him in God’s Kingdom.

Now I’m not talking about a spiritual kingdom…I’m not talking about some people thinking it’s here now, or the teaching that someday when the world is all Christian, then folks will bring in the kingdom for Christ so he can return?

No, what I’m saying IS A REAL, PHYSICAL KINGDOM ON EARTH THAT CHRIST WILL SET-UP WHEN HE RETURNS THE SECOND TIME.

And that’s what I’m talking about! The Children of the Kingdom.

Just who’s gonna be there?

It often comes up when people talk about the Kingdom of God, they ask: “Who is going to be the greatest in the Kingdom?

In other words, who is gonna sit in the first row, and who’s gonna be in the back?

Well, that’s what the disciples were arguing about as they followed Jesus: who will be the greatest in the Kingdom to come?

Matthew 10:13-16: Jesus asked them what they were arguing about on the road? They kept silent, but He knew their thoughts. And what was the answer He gave them? A scolding? A lecture?

No, He gave an answer they never expected!

Why, He took in His arms a child, and said to them that “becoming like a little child, you welcome my Father and I into your life,” and therefore “The Kingdom of God belongs to such as these…”

“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

The disciples thought that by their good works one would be greater than the other in the Kingdom to come!

No, he that would be in the Kingdom shall be as a little child: trusting, happy, innocent, full of wonder, accepting, ready to jump into the waiting arms of Jesus. We shall go flying into then arms of Jesus who will never drop us.

Again in Matthew, chapter 18, they asked the same question, and if repetition  does anything, it proves a point.

“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

He called a child whom He put among them, and said, ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change, and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

‘Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Wow, that sure took the wind out of their sails!

Jesus also said in Matthew 19: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”

Like a little child, you can’t have extra baggage; no agenda, no stuff, just believe, and trust, and be happy and long for that special Kingdom Jesus promised in the Lord’s Prayer: “THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.”

We are to come to Him as little children with a child-like faith…let go of the clutter in your life; make room for Jesus.

So, you who are blessed in the Lord, rejoice and be happy, for Jesus is coming for His children made suitable for the Kingdom!

And here it is, For John wrote: “BUT TO ALL WHO RECEIVED HIM, WHO BELIEVED IN HIS NAME, HE GAVE POWER TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD.”

Did you get that? He has given us power…you and I, true believers in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to become children of God!

Because: “WHO WERE BORN NOT OF BLOOD OR THE WILL OF THE FLESH OR THE WILL OF MAN, BUT OF GOD.”

And now you know the truth!

He will welcome us one day into His Kingdom. Why? Because of His almighty power for us to become the Children of God, the Children of the Kingdom, that’s why!

We, who are Christ’s, are His children. He is our Father. We are the children of the family of God and it doesn’t get better than that!

Therefore, you can know your future and that of your loved ones.

Paul wrote in the 8th chapter of Romans: “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

That’s us.

For, “When we cry, Abba! Father! It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are Children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.”

We will inherit eternal salvation and God Himself and all things with Christ…

Paul wrote: “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.”

Something great has been going on in the world undetectable by man…for Paul said: “We know that the whole creation has been groaning…”

Our bodies don’t feel very child-like when we groan, do they? But we groan all our lives…just as we groan within ourselves when we don’t feel so good, reaching for an aspirin or alkaselzer, muscle rub, and wanting to take a nap because we are very tired!

But we press on, still groaning as Paul said, “in labor pains until now; and not only the creation but we ourselves, who have the first fruit of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for the adoption, the redemption of our bodies.”

And that’s when we shall be perfect! That’s when He shall come for us…that’s when we shall be glorified according to the promises and power of GOD.

Just as we are waiting, so, too, the saints who sleep in Christ Jesus.

Just before he died, the great missionary to China, Hudson Taylor, said: “I am so weak. I can’t read my Bible. I can’t even pray. I can only lie still in God’s arms like a little child and trust.”

For in hope we were saved…But. if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience…According to the will of God.

Paul wrote: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus was talking about the children of the Kingdom in Matthew, chapter 5:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

In 1 John 3, the Apostle John concluded:

“See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called the Children of God; and that is what we are.”

“Beloved, we are God’s children now, what we will be has not been revealed.

What we do know is this: When He is revealed, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

And all who have this hope in Him purify themselves, JUST AS HE IS PURE.

Take some time to think about Heaven and all the awesome glories GOD has in store for us, His children of the Kingdom, we, the children of God.

Therefore, my precious saints:

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you, hallelujah.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
