Our Common Ground?

In these troubling times, with so many anti-Christian forces of the enemy coming at every turn, should we not stand fast on the common ground of our faith, the beliefs so dearly held that Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, Son of God, has won for us? Must we continue to retreat without so much a word? Can we not stand firm in our beliefs of the Orthodox Christian faith handed down by the Apostles? What then is our common core beliefs that are nonnegotiable? What do we, I stand for? The enemy calls us, intolerant, intolerant, intolerant just because we hold firm to our Christian beliefs put in practice in everyday living within a secular community or a hostile society around us. Yet the very thing you cry, is the very thing you come at us with: intolerance! Will you be tolerant of my Christian faith, and my right to practice my faith just as you are practicing what you are doing? Or will you seek to silence me? Like it or not, we are still a Christian nation (a vast majority of Americans believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior), but a silent one just now, unfortunately…one day, perhaps soon, we will roar…and after that, you shall see us no more!

I believe in the Holy Bible as the spoken word of God, written without error…our true guide for truth, light, and life…from Genesis to Revelation…

I believe that forgiveness of sins and salvation unto eternal life with GOD, is only, only by belief in Christ’s shedding His blood on the Cross for us, and in His death, burial, resurrection, ascension up to heaven, and His coming again to reign on earth for a thousand years as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives unto confession that Jesus is Lord, sanctification, and salvation.

I believe in holy Baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ with living members of that community.

I believe in Holy Communion, the Supper of our Lord, as Christ commanded to do “in remembrance of Me, until I come again; whereby we partake of the elements of bread and wine, that they may be the Body and Blood of Jesus…

I believe that life begins at conception, and that every fetus should develop to term, and not be horribly aborted, which is killing a live human being, murder, regardless of the words one might use to cover up, but brought into this world as a baby, to be nurtured and cared for…and to grow up in a loving, caring, healthy family and environment.

I believe that marriage is ordained by God between a man and a woman…

I believe in the Creeds as the fundamental statements of the Christian faith…

I believe in the Lord’s Prayer as a prayer that ought to be said many times a day…

There are so many more items of our Christian faith that could be touched upon…but you nget the picture, right?

May the blessings of Almighty God, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit be with you and remain with you always in your confession of faith,

Amen+
