It has been given me in this age, the Church Age-the Age of Grace, whereby God, the Father is calling people everywhere by His Holy Spirit to His Son, Jesus Christ, to be a herald of His Word, proclaiming the most marvelous event to happen next in God’s prophetic calendar found exclusively in the Holy Bible in the New Testament!
The great event I am proclaiming, an event so near that the Holy Spirit has written to be “imminent,” will be a glorious day when Jesus comes out of Heaven to Earth, in the air above the clouds to receive His Church to be in Heaven with Him. This future one and only complete and great gathering of the Church saints by Christ is known in Scripture as the Rapture of the Church, the catching up or snatching up of the His Church as found in 1Thessalonians 4:17. Although you will not find the word “rapture ” here or anywhere else in the Bible, it’s truth, teaching, and doctrine is right there in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, the most dominant Rapture passage in the entire Bible, where we read, especially verses 16-17:
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel. and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught uo together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
To get the idea of the Rapture as being one of the great doctrines of the Bible, let’s take as historical tour. The New Testament was originally written in Greek. That’s a fact! And the 1 Thessalonians passage of the Rapture in chapter 4, verse 17 is “harpazo” (to be caught up).” When the Greek New Testament was translated into Latin by saint Jerome in AD 383, known as the Vulgate Bible, when he came to the Rapture passage in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 to the Greek word “harpazo,” he translated it as “rapturo;” and from that word came the English “caught up,” or the Rapture! It’s all right there whether you believe it or not…it’s going to happen because God said it’s going to happen even as Jesus promised in John 14:1-6! Nothing has to happen before it to happen! That’s why it is “Imminent!”
In a word, this is the resurrection of the dead in Christ (those who sleep in Christ) and the translation of the living, that will happen in a moment, in a flash, in the “twinkling of an eye” when Christ Jesus gathers His Church on that soon and coming glorious Day!
Even so, come Lord Jesus.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
